Default Need Help

A Few Nights ago me and 3 friends lets call them Harry, Julie and Jennifer went and picked up some blow (cocaine) and some black (black tar heroin) we rented a hotel room went in and started doing our thing. Then Julie overdosed on heroin causing her to enter a coma I quickly ran out of the hotel room to go get some ammonia inhalants while I was out Jennifer was trying to help Julie breath but it wasn’t working so she called the paramedics, who then came over shot Julie up with naltrexon I believe. After the medics took her to the hospital some cops showed up ( I still was not at the hotel) and started asking questions about where the drugs came from Harry told them they came from me and told them some info about who my source was, Jennifer luckily told them nothing. I receive a phone call saying I need to come back to the hotel or a warrant for my arrest would be issued. So I go back to the hotel, enter the room and the cops empty out my pockets, check my shoes, wallet etc looking for drugs fortunately for me I had disposed of all the stuff I had on me. Harry still had about an 8-Ball of coke on him in his pocket which they seized. Anyways the cops ask me if I was the one who got it and I said yes due to Harry ratting me out already. Then they ask me about from who and where, and I gave them a general idea of where and who. They were also asking me about the syringe that Julie used to shoot up with and as to where the rest of the drugs were. I told them I had no more and that I had no clue where the syringe was. The cops told me if Julie died I would be looking at involuntary manslaughter (thank god she didn’t). There was some paraphernalia in the room Ex: syringes and straws only one of which syringes was used I believe and still had residue. because Jennifer threw out the rest. Now the police say I have a shit load of felonies on my hand and I am wandering what exactly for?. Now they didn’t even charge anyone with anything that night and let us all go so I am wandering is that due to lack of evidence or what? Like I said I had no drugs/paraphernalia on me and that paraphernalia that was around was in the room not on a single person and they found no drugs other than what Harry had in his pocket They also did not give any of us any type of drug test. So my questions are what charges am I looking at if any? Do I need to be worried? The cops also want me to give them a call sometime this week or they will issue a warrant out for my arrest can someone explain why?

The cops are "playing it cool", letting you feel secure--because they are, no doubt, building a significant legal case against you, designed to be foolproof--and air tight. This takes time and effort and I commend the police wholeheartedly for doing so. Your being "under the influence" or not is a misdemeanor, at the time pales in comparision to their focus at the moment---felony charges and possibly manslaughter. I would retain an attorney IMMEDIATELY---you can also rest assured that all your "buddies" will comply with the police entirely---there is no honor among thieves--they already sold you out the moment you walked out of the hotel room.

I would also consider things like--having your computer seized--and you've admitted your involvement here. Good move. Also, you don't mention your age, or if you or if they are minors, and you do not refer to your location. So, more specific advice cannot be given.

What a great way to ruin a perfectly good life.
