There really are no such thing as subpoena rights as they pertain to the person being subpoenaed. There are laws about how it is served, etc. There is no set amount of time they are required to give you before hand and travel arrangements, time of work, etc. really isn't their concern. I know---its like jury duty, very inconvenient.
Contacted whomever issued the subpoena and ask them these questions. I am not convinced it will do any good---the call of justice, so to speak, pretty much takes prcedence over everything else. But you can express to the if you are having difficulty getting of work, etc. But I would NOT under any circumstances even contemplate NOT showing up---because when they issue a warrant for your arrest for failure to appear or contempt of court, its going to cost a lot more time, distance and money.
Do you intend to be a hostile witness?
