Have the courts been known to be diligent about verifying the whereabouts of offenders even when they are compliant?

I am not sure what you are asking. Unfortunately, the commission of a crime, at times, results in inconvenience. I hope your posting isn't suggesting you are considering skipping going through the steps of transferring supervision and all that entails. That would be a mistake that could have far reaching ramifications for the rest of his life.
Don't sacrifice the permanent on the altar of the immediate. Be inconvenienced now---and not sorry later.
Good luck.
