Default Pardon for underage offence

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was 16 years old I was deported back to Canada from the US for working without a permit (but no criminal charges were filed) I have no other type of criminal record (either US or Canadian). I know (considering current strict security checks) that I would be banned from re-entering the US because of this black mark. Can I ask to have this not considered or ask for a pardon because I was a minor at the time in 1966. In Canada, juvenile records are not admissible in adult court. Would this be similar in the US and to whom would I have to apply to for a pardon, US Immigration or the Justice Dept. Are pardons even given in the US ?

Actually that's not quite true -- law enforcement, including the courts, usually have access to juvenile records and do use them for enhancement of charges or sentencing.

I think you should talk to an immigration lawyer.
