Disabled By Credit Reporting Agencies
Can anyone assist with this issue, please? I was going to a tech. school and had student loans which were deferred until six months after graduation but I became disabled and the loan company took my loans out of deferment because they said that the disability insurance had to pay them off, which it did. Then I noticed on my credit reports from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion that it states my loans were still unpaid, collections, and delinquent. I contacted them numerous times disputing this information, and I also contacted the original loan holder. The original loan holder stated we will give you a letter stating this wasn't ever a delinquent or negative account. They gave me the letter said I needed to send to all 3 reporting agencies and I did. Experian was first to take it off then after a year or two Equifax took it off. Well, TransUnion has never taken off the negative remarks and now I just found out Experian and Equifax put them back on, but I managed to get Experian to take off Negative remarks completely. The loan company now is telling me that if you die or become disabled you get penalized by the code they use which indicates a Negative account and will now remain that way for Equifax and TransUnion until 2011 and I have been fighting this issue since 2004.
