Get judgment against business reported to credit bureaus?
I just won a Small Claims case against my former landlord - a company not an individual. Is there any way I can facilitate getting the judgment on that businesses credit report? Maybe send a copy of the judgment to the top 3 credit bureaus and just hope they report it?

Think about this. You have a judgement on a person with real estate in his asset list. Why not file a lien against the apartment where he shorted you?
It is possible that he is only a manager of that apartment, but the real point here is to file your judgement against the real estate where you lost money due to your landlord. This seems appropriate. Perhaps he won't want to sell it, but a lien can actually prevent him from getting a loan on that real estate because it will come second to your lien if he refinances. With an economy like this one, you might find yourself "in the money" fairly quickly. Check out the ownership on the apartment where you were shorted. |
