| Is a minor liable for child support? At the age of 16, my unmarried son had fathered a child in Virginia. Now at the age of 17, he has received a summons to appear for child support. My question is; Since he is still a minor, could he be ordered to pay child support or will my son's custodial parent (his mother) be held liable until he reaches the age of 18? Could I (the non-custodial parent) be held liable? Thank you for any insights. |

| No. The baby is not yours---it is his. He will have to pay child support, not you. |
