Default In Need Of Legal Assistance Desperately

I am a single paraplegic mother of three who has spent her life trying to protect and keep my kids safe. In 2001, I moved to Florida from North Carolina because I felt my life was in danger from my husband whom I had been separated from since April 2000. It wasn't until after my move that I discovered that the same man had tried to rape my youngest girl who is now age 17. When he signed our separation papers he admitted to psycological and emotional abuse as well as abandonment. I have since then been trying to find someone who will help me in having his rights terminated from our son. Several times he has said he would be willing to have his rights terminated, but then when it came down to it he backed away and said he wouldn't. He has never been regular on his child support except for when Orange County of North Carolina had him in court every month and under scrutinized watch. He is now only ordered to pay a measely $54 a month and he still is unable to make his payments regularly. I really don't care for the child support or any of his money. I want to ensure that my son will never be subject to his style of living and his immoral actions. As I said I am really in need of legal help with this matter, unfortunately I am not financially able to afford an attorney. If there are any Pro bono lawyers that might be willing to help me please let me know as I would really like to be able to return to my home state as that is where all my family is. Please if there is anyway someone could help me it would be most appreciated.

This is probably not the right place to find a pro bono attorney. I would suggest contacting your local legal aide or county bar association. Good luck with your case.
