my sis had her baby taken away from her back in august. and since september i have been trying to get the child place in my home. My sis doesn't want her child to be placed with me but we are going to court on 1-11-06 for a change in custody placement and chs is saying they want the child placed into my home i have had the background check and homestudy done and was approved. so we are going to court next week for the placement change and also for a arrainment to legal father. well my sis wasn't married her boyfriend and her decided to name him as the father on childs birth certificate but they requested a dna and he is not the biological father. so my question is how can my sis boyfriend have a say so into anything about the child if she isn't even his child. because now he wrote a letter to cw concerning my home. what can i do since i am blood related to the child and he is n't. please help.

Please confirm that I have all of this correct:
- Your sister's baby was taken out of her posession - You have filed a petition to have your sister's baby placed in your care; however, your sister is opposed to this course of action - Your sister's boyfriend was named as the child's father on the child's birth certificate, despite the fact that DNA testing proves that he is not the child's biological father Two questions: 1. Why was your sister's baby taken away from her in the first place? 2. Who currently has custody over the child? 3. Are there any indications of who the biological father might be? Have there been attempts to find and/or contact him? 4. What kind of participation does your sister's boyfriend have in this whole proceeding (if any)? Answers to these questions will greatly help me and others on this board to provide you with some information; thanks! Brad |
