Default Income Deduction Order (IDO)

Hi! I am new to this site. I'm hoping to find answers to some questions I have in getting an IDO signed. I'm trying to do it myself using the I-CAN! site on the Fulton County Superior Court website.

I did the divorce/separation agreement "Pro-se" without any problems. But doing the IDO is surprisingly more complicated for me.

My 3 questions are:
1. In my separation agreement from my Final Judgment and Decree I had down for the non-custodial parent (NCP) to pay bi-weekly to add up to the monthly amount that I calculated from the child support calculator online. The judge said the calculator was updated and he sent us to a mediator to get the correct monthly amount. So we have an amendment form the mediator with the new monthly amount, but the new bi-weekly amount was not modified. Now the NCP’s job changed their payroll frequency to weekly. I did the math and filled out the IDO for the NCP to pay weekly. The monthly amount will match my paper work from the divorce, but will the judge have issues with the frequency change??

2. I went back to my maiden name. Should I fill out the forms with my former married name so that it will match the divorce papers or use my current/maiden name?

3. The first instructions I saw said to contact the case manager for the judge who signed my original order to find out if there is a specific time that I should come to get the IDO signed. The new instructions just says to give the forms to the judge’s case manager. It doesn’t mention calling first. I called the main line of the family division and asked and she just said I need to file something in order to get a court date but she didn’t know what I need to file. So, is it ok to just take the IDO to the judge’s case manager and give it to them? Also, the instructions said to give them a self addressed stamped envelope for them to send me a signed copy.

Any help in answering these questions would be much appreciated.

Your questions are more procedural than legal.

Many attorney's give free or low cost consultations, and for the price of an office visit, perhaps he or she can be more precise about the specifics of your particular jurisdiction.
