Unhappy My exwife is alienating my daughter from myself

I am an American living in England with my fiance and and stepsons .I was married in GA and had 1 child with my ex-spouse.We divorced in 2001 and my ex-spouse remarried . I barely saw my daughter and visitation was barred by my ex-spouse except for her own imposed supervised visitation schedules which meant I had to travel 7 hours just to see my child for 2 hours in her mothers company .Due to economical circumstances I was forced to move back to my parents in NY. My ex then moved my daughter to CA without notifying myself or the courts(She had my address the whole time)I had 50% legal custody and full visitation rights of my daughter until oct 2004 when I was called to a court hearing in California. As I was then unemployed after working for the Dept of defense for 2 years and only was given 27 days to raise funds for an attorney and travel there was no way I could do this . I informed the court of this and submitted income and finance statement with other documents required which subsequently got lost in the mail and only turned up after the hearing was over . I was later informed that I had lost custody and visitation and my childsupport payments had increased from $420 to $581 based on my income being estimated by my ex-spouse . My expouse and her attorney knew I was unemployed attending training over here but they choose to omit that knowledge to the judge so he based the support on presumed income. I was also refused phone mediation and telephone appearance for the court hearing.I was told it couldnt be fascilitated in their county. My ex-spouse also informed my daughter school and medical facilities that they were not to release any more information to me about my daughter quoting that this was court ordered ( no evidence of this)I used to have a good relationship with my daughter teachers. She also stopped the phonecalls I had had with my daughter every weekend .I have been paying what I can every month during the unemployment and the full amount whilst employed also sent parcels of books and clothes to my child every month. I have not had any feedback from my emails or letter re our child ,I also asked my Ex to submit her bankdetails so I could transfer money straight to her account but she refused to talk or write to me in response. She also returned gifts and letters I send to our child. My Ex-spouse has now brought in CSS who claims I owe 18,000 in childsupport . I am now paying $581+$145=$726 /month straight to the childsupport services .They are harassing me for the $18000 which I want to pay off . But due to order was modified without jurisdiction noone knows how much I acctually ows anymore,as the calculations has to revert to $420/month for the last year instead of the $581 they charged me . I need to modify childsupport and visitation as I have commitment to my family over here aswell. How can this process be sped up? How do I regain visitation rights? latest update 15th oct 05 . CSS told me that the modificationcase on the 14th of oct was dropped from the calendar as the CA court might not have had jurisdiction to have changed childsupport 1 year ago on the 4th oct 2004. I have been told over the phone that I have to wait two month to find out if support should revert back to the original sum of $ 420 which was ordered by Liberty Superior court GA . The reason for that CA might not have jurisdiction I was told CSS and courtclerk, is because we married in GA our child was concieved in GA and the divorce was taken place in GA . I have never set foot in CA myself. And as I am living in England , this is now I am told an international issue. In the meantime I am loosing precios time not having any contact with my daughter. .I tried to phone my daughter on her birthday a few days ago but my call was blocked and the gift I sent to my daughter was also refused by my ex wife and returned. My emails are also screened and unopened. I need urgent help . I have the funds to pay for an attorney.

If there is a pending case in CA you will need a CA attorney. You can post your case for free here at www.legalmatch.com or contact the local county bar association or state bar association for a direct referral. Good luck.

Default Thank You

Thanks for your response, I posted my case and got one response.
I also phoned the courts and was notified that nothing has happened in regards to my case and they refered me to CSA. Who also told me that someone hadn`t done what had been requested so I`m stuck. If I need to complain about a case that has been ordered without jurisdiction due to this being an international case....Who do I complain to if nothing is being to done to rectify this mistake?
