What rights do my children have ages 14 and 15 9th and 10th grade? They have been going over to there dads on Wednesday nights and when it is his weekend he brings them to school Monday morning.
He lives over 1 hour from the school and both of my kids are in atheltics - One has early morning practice which means she has to be there at 7:00am. They have to get up at 5:00 to leave by 5:45am. The other has late afternoon practice so he has to be at the school at 7:00am and it doesn't start until 8:35am. They have asked to not have to spend the night but he will only do it if it is convenient for him. If he is traveling etc. He also is threatening that my son will be driving out to his house every Wednesday and on the weekends. Can we get some legal help? |

Sounds like all the traveling is tough on the kids but you must also look at the importance of your children having a relationship with their father. This may outweigh sleeping in the car before practice.
If the children's school work and heath are suffering then you may want to petition the court for modification of the arrangement that set this visitation up. Maybe another set up can be arranged so that the kids can still spend time with their father but not be pulled so thin. |
