changing custody jurisdication

My daughter is in a situation where she lives in one state and the ex-boyfriend lives in another. She will have custody during the school year and he will have the child in the summer with holiday visitation. The currant jurisdication is in his state. Can that be petitioned and changed to her state since the child will be living with her most of the time. We weren't sure if b/c the first hearing was in his state it always had to be in that state.

First talk to the local courthouse in the state your daughter is now living. If they offer no advise contact the state that established jurisdiction about changing current jurisdiction. They also are a good source of information.
