Converting a chapter 13 to a chapter 7
I filed a chapter 13 in 2007. I am now having trouble keeping up payments. My child support has stopped, due to none payment, and I receive $1,133 a month in LTD(long term disability). I have had my payment reduced, but still can't make the payments. What will happen to my only means of transportation if I convert to chapter 7. I have a 2005 chevy equinox in good condition, with 94,000 miles and I owe more than it is worth. HELP!!!!!. My attorney has me afraid that I have to give the car back or they will take it. When I filed the chapter I wasn't behind in car payments, but not sure now since it been over 2 years since I filed. Reaffirming the debt is not a option since the payments are so high.
