I live in Iowa, and I leased one of my assets to a business. When I went to check on my asset, I found that the business owner had "skipped town."
This business owner had rented the building from a landlord. The landlord of the building has informed me that the assets I had in this business are now her property...even though I had a copy of the lease agreement I had with the customer (her tenant). What do I do? ![]() |

I would file a police report on the off chance that they will let you do a claim and delivery like they would in my state ( south carolina) In my state, a claim and delivery hearing has a notice to show cause, both parties appear and the judge instructs her to allow you to have your property back. If that doesn't work, call an attorney immediately before your items are sold and/or disposed of. |
