I'm considering marrying a man that has a 14 year old daughter and is paying $800.00 a month in child support. We live in California, his daughter lives in New York with her mother. His child support is court ordered and deducted from his pay every other week. If we get married will my wages be attached, and/or the amount of support increased? Is there anyway that I will be held financially responsible for the childs financial support? What financial penalties would be incurred if he is in arears? Also, is there any way for me to protect my finances from his child support obligations? Any information, or advice is appreciated
